Austria comes to America as a cast of 75 musicians, singers and dancers warble and waltz their way through an official recreation of the world-famous Viennese New Year's concert. Composer Johann Strauss Jr. continues to inspire through symphony, song and dance in this annual new year's production. Touring for more than a decade, North America never tires of the greatest hits in waltzes, polkas and marches. The Strauss Symphony of America, led by Hungarian conductor Andras Deak, is joined by Viennese soprano Marcela Cerno and Spanish tenor Eduardo Aladren for excerpts from popular operettas, such as "The Merry Widow" and "Die Fledermaus," while dancers from the Vienna Imperial Ballet waltz on stage in period costumes.
