“El Alma Al Aire” (The Soul to the Air) was the hit that put Sanz on top of the Spanish pop-rock heap. The multiple Latin Grammy winner is one of Spain’s most popular musical artists, with more than 20 million albums sold. He was the first Spanish artist to record and release an album in the “MTV Unplugged” series. His albums include “Mas,” “Basico” and “Paraiso Express,” but it was “No Es Lo Mismo” that marked Sanz’s debut as producer as well as performer. That release was a rich mixture of cultures with strong flamenco flavors and lyrics that managed to be both poetic and political.
