Fernandez started out as part of a prolific father-and-son team that kept folkloric music all in the family. His father Vicente is a ranchera singer who helped define Mexican culture for more than three decades, while Alejandro re-creates the old genre with a modern touch. The former member of “People” magazine’s Most Beautiful list climbed the charts with such releases as “Origenes” and “A Corazon Abierto.” Fernandez pays homage to his rich musical roots with a modern take on Mexican folk music, mixing traditional mariachi music with contemporary pop. The singer is a Latin Grammy winner for the single “Mi Verdad.”
