Author of eleven novels, Salman Rushdie will autograph his book, "Joseph Anton" which is a memoir about his own struggles with the threat of murder looming over his head. Having been "sentenced to death" by the Ayatollah Khomeini for writing the novel The Satanic Verses because the book's contents were said to be "against Islam, the Prophet and the Quran," Rushdie uses his alias "Joseph Anton" to continue his life underground and surrounded by police protection. Founder of Books & Books Mitchell Kaplan, he discusses Rushdie's book and his experiences. Those interested can purchase a ticket for $10 or purchase Rushdie's book at Books & Books in exchange for two vouchers which will allow admittance to the event. Tickets and attached receipt required to gain entrance to the event. Tickets can be purchased in person, online or call ahead and reserve a ticket to be picked up at will call the night of the event.
